This is an old embroidery stitch style, mainly used in Blackwork or Assisi embroidery. This stitch is also known as double running stitch, line stitch, Spanish stitch or two-sided line stitch. It can be worked in straight lines, diagonally or in zigzag lines. This stitch gives an identical look on both sides of the fabric. This is a counted thread stitch.
1. Draw a pattern.
2. Start the run stitch following the design.
3. After completing one round of running stitch, continue the stitches in the blank spaces of the same line in a reverse order.
